Fly Over County

June 6th, 2016 by Greg Moheban

Flying over the U.S. vast Midwest territory looks much the same until you see the Rocky Mountains or the expanse of America’s top cities on each coast. What you see is much of the farmland that feeds our population. What you don’t realize is what convergence of technology is happening right before your eyes across Indiana.

The Bio-Technology industry is a massive resource in this state that is delivering large payoffs to the health of our nation and beyond. It appears just like corn and soybean fields for miles and miles from the air, but tucked away in this expanse are the gems of the healthcare industry.

This blog and series will provide insights and consideration into stats and information around Indiana’s growth in these areas and the locations they serve. Some things to consider right away:

  • 1,695 companies
  • 83 new products approved by the FDA
  • 1,200 patents granted
