Van Ausdall & Farrar Attends Mitel Top 40 Summit

November 21st, 2019 by Trent Smith

Van Ausdall & Farrar was honored to attend Mitel’s Top 40 Summit, held last week in Mesa, Arizona.

During the jam-packed 3-day event, Mitel leadership outlined Mitel’s road map and strategic vision. Mitel leadership that addressed the leading partners in North America included Mary McDowell, CEO of Mitel, along with Executive Vice Presidents Bob Agnes, Daniel Farrar and Graham Bevington.

It quickly became obvious that Mitel’s focus going into 2020 is a transition from attention to acquisitions and consolidation of the unified communications marketplace, to one that stresses improvement in delivery, reliability and functionality of their cloud and premise-based platforms.

As more and more customers transition from a premise-based communications platform, Mitel emphasized that no two customers are exactly the same. We must offer our clients choices, whether that be public cloud, private cloud, hybrid, or some combination of the three.

Mitel’s Message and Strategy Is Working

Mitel has deployed 4.7 million public and private cloud seats in 2019, 1.4 million more than their next closest competitor.

Moving forward, Mitel is highly committed to make customer experience for present and future customers superior to anything else in the marketplace. For example, Mitel is assuring industry-leading reliability by deploying all new Mitel MiCloud Connect UCaaS customers in Google Cloud. This initiative started several months ago. Google is the only cloud platform that is hailing the much sought after 99.9999% reliability. And, if you are a previous MiCloud Connect customer, your image will be seamlessly transitioned to Google Cloud by 2Q 2020.

Moreover, Mitel emphasized their strategic alliance with Google for their leading artificial intelligence as well. This partnership will pay tremendous dividends in the Contact Center environment that is requiring Omni-Channel functionality requiring chat bots, enhanced agent assistance and incorporation of social media into the Contact Center environment.

Mitel also announced their strategic partnership with Amazon AWS to seamlessly deliver enhanced applications. In particular, readily available advanced mobility functionality.

Though we were already well aware of Mitel’s progress with reducing the time required to successfully deploy Mitel MiCloud Connect due to our own experiences in the past 6 months, they announced that the average deployment times have been cut in half.

As a result of Mitel’s tireless efforts to streamline activations and improve overall reliability with the Google Cloud partnership, Mitel’s sales have skyrocketed this year.

These are just a snippet of the highlights gleaned from the Mitel Summit. Van Ausdall & Farrar is proud to be a Mitel Gold Partner. In fact, we were one of only 12 partners in the United States to be awarded the general release of their Partner SmartStart program. This program provides Van Ausdall & Farrar complete control of the cloud discovery, programming, implementation, training and support process for MiCloud Connect. On November 21, VA&F successfully deployed the first SmartStart customer in the United States.
